Stelight Instrument BI8201 Burn-In and Life Test system is designed for Chip,Bar,Die, CoS or TO Burn-in and life test under 500mA current.

General Information

Stelight Instrument BI8201 Burn-In and Life Test system is designed for Chip,Bar,Die, CoS or TO Burn-in and life test under 500mA current. It provide a temperature controlled environment in which to test photonics components. Devices can be tested either packaged or in the chip-carrier form. Different devices only need to change different burn-In panel and fixtures. System can show every devices status information, each panel can do burn-in independently.

Stelight Instrument BI8201 support database, Burn-in data can upload to database. With integrated Quick Check function, it is easy to check every devices information very quickly.

In order to guarantee system reliability of working around 0-120oC inside the oven, every burn-in drawer has independent thermal unit. With real-time monitor’s feedback, the system can automatically control the temperature to guarantee temperature uniformity all over the system. The alarm will be generated when it detects failure fan automatically.

The overall architecture of Stelight Instrument BI8201 significantly lowers the system cost by integrating the traditional components of oven and drive/control electronics. The resultant system has a lower cost and smaller footprint, while still being quickly interchangeable, with no need for external interconnection cables.

System Description

Stelight Instrument BI8201 is designed as 6 floors and each floor has 2 drawers. For different TO products, only need to change the burn-in fixture design (below are some pictures for your information).

The good thing is each drawer’s temperature and current/voltage are independently controlled, so each drawer could work independently without affecting each other, this provided very good flexibility for customers.

Burn-in and Test Fixture

DUT is sitting on 10x seats Burn-in fixture. The fixture then will be loaded to burn-in drawer for burn-in, or be loaded to test station for testing. For different DUT we only do some small change for the burn-in fixture which greatly improved the flexibility of the burn-in lines.

With built-in precision monitor sensors & feedback control, Stelight Instrument BI8201 has very stable temperature and Drive Current performance in all burn-in and life-test period. The following diagram show the Temperature Uniformity, Uniformity at 0C is within +/-1C, Uniformity at 80C is within +/-2C, driver current Uniformity is within 0.1%.
